Finalist VA of the Year – Solo VA – UK VA Awards 2023

A few weeks ago, I found out that I had moved a step closer in the Solo VA – UK VA Awards 2023 – I have made it to the final along with 6 other amazing business owners 🎉

I am absolutely over the moon and couldn’t be prouder of my achievement – achieving this recognition for my hard work and dedication that I put into making my business a success is so fantastic.  Being nominated for the awards by a client, is wonderful in itself but making it to the finalist stage is a whole new level of excitement for me 🍾

My Journey into the awards

My journey began back in May when I received an email from Amanda Johnson who runs the awards informing me that I had been nominated by one of my lovely clients, (you know who you are – thank you). I spent hours filling in the application that dug deep into my business, what my values are, how I helped my clients and asked about what the future might hold for my business and what winning would mean. I didn’t even dare begin to think that I would make it to the final after being shortlisted, so I was on tender hooks on that Friday morning waiting for the announcement.

Deciding to become a fulltime VA and run my own business giving up a very good job was a leap of faith I made in January 2022, but I knew I had to follow my dream because if I didn’t, I would always regret it, so I did just that.  Running a business is a roller coaster and I’ve had lots to learn, as with any business there are ups and downs but one of the many things, I love about the VA industry is that it is so supportive and there is always someone there to provide support when it’s needed.

The VA Conference and gala awards dinner

The winner of the awards will be announced on 13th October at the gala dinner in Bournemouth hosted by Amanda Johnson and what an event it is set to be. During the day I will be attending the conference which I am really excited about as it’s my first time attending and from what I’ve heard it’s a great day, with lots of learning to be had, lots of great speakers and networking with all the other fantastic VA’s as well.

The evening at the Hilton will be a great event with tasty food, good company, and an opportunity to celebrate all the finalists’ successes.

The judging continues now and what a judging panel it is, made up by the finest industry experts and business owners. While winning would be a wonderful outcome I am so honoured that they have selected me, and my business from all the applicants they have had, I know the standards were high so even to get this far is such a great achievement and recognition for me.

So, wish we luck on 13th October!

Now I need to get my posh frock aired ready. 🐾
